Soulseek which port

It has worked in the past for me when debugging. First you said it was a ports closed error though. Now you say the client won't even open? Something obviously happened, not sure what's going on.

Did anything change on your system? Yes i can get to the port options page, however when i tried to check port i'm using port this shows up IP: Update: I kinda fixed it, i change the server port from 80 to and i'm connected. Does it means soulseek blocks port 80? I am logged into the site fine, and am using the same username and password in my client, and verified that my ports are open the website test shows "open" for both ports.

The solution is to ensure your ports are open. This depends on your router set up etc. A single solution does not apply to all. I have the same problem. I wish to share a huge classical library and also some personally-recorded files that are unique, however, I use a VPN like all of you should, to protect my password and banking information and do NOT go online with my naked ISPs IP address.

I know how to port forward, and I have my router configured for it, but when you're on a VPN, I do not know how to open the port required effectively if the VPN service blocks the open port. Opening ports via a router, even if your IP address is static, does not seem to matter. To anyone with technical know-how here I despise being accused of leeching and want to share. An occasional Soulseeker gets inordinately angry with me and messages me with ad hominem attacks, but despite my best efforts, the darn port won't permit uploads!

I want to contribute, but some of you guys "see red" and don't give a "wit" about honest people who are having issues with ports. Learning to open ports through a VPN involves a bit of a steep learning curve. Can anyone help? Or should I give up and just contribute money? Jeroen Peetermans. Are there other people who aren't able to connect to Soulseek?

Ex: Open up your router administration control and assign the listening port to be forwarded to the IP address your computer receives from the router. For each router this is explained in detail at PortForward. Pick your router and go through the steps that they list. Restart your Soulseek client if you have changed your listening port. Try to exit all the tabs and restart your computer or device, let it load and try again. Yes No. Not Helpful 5 Helpful 0. If you are using Soulseek on more than one computer, you will have to assign a different listening port for each computer, have a static internal IP address for each computer and configure port forwarding for each listening port to that computer. Be careful. You should see a field that says "Listening Port:" , Slsk short for Soulseek selects a random port, but you can change it to any port you like. Beside this field there is a button that says "Test firewall and router settings". This will open up a webbrowser. Unless the page says "Your router and Soulseek client is configured correctly.
