Where is tomahawk lake nj

In winter, the lake is drained, depleting most all vestige of the season's growth. The result is weed-free, crystal clear water for the ultimate summer refreshment. For the more traditional, Tomahawk Lake provides an immaculate sand bottom no concrete, no chlorine that slopes gently out to floating rafts. Back ashore you can visit a large refreshment stand, outdoor beer garden with live weekend entertainment , an ice cream trailer, a novelty trailer, an arcade, an 18 hole miniature golf course, a putting green and a brand new ball field.

Eight hundred picnic tables inhabit lawns and groves throughout the park, and four spotless bathroom facilities are a quick walk from anywhere. Tomahawk Lake provides an outstanding value for groups or large family reunions 50 people or more. Food prepared on site in the original farmhouse and served under large circus tents keeps guests happy eating all they want, all day long.

Homemade donuts on arrival; homemade clam chowder at mid morning; hotdogs, burgers and salads for lunch; lemonade, birch beer, ice cream, cotton candy, and popcorn all afternoon; and freshly killed barbequed chicken with Jersey corn on the cob and ziti for supper. There is a large ft. It has become too costly for a family to spend the day as everything costs extra and is not reasonably priced. The beach is crowded and the lifeguards do not maintain a safe place for the older kids.

They do not police the equipment and allow the kids to pile on the floats and jump onto eachother's heads. Parents are not permitted to go in the water and watch which is ridiculous and dangerous because the 15yr old lifeguards are not interested in keeping the area safe from their chairs. There are garbage cans every four feet on the beach and the flies and bees are out of control.

We will not be returning. The website looks fantastic but please don't be fooled. David V 1 contribution. Very rude staff not worth dealing with. We come here a few times a summer. I love the old-school lake vibe, the water is clean, the surroundings are lovely and green, and the size is really manageable with younger kids.

But the staff here is sort of ridiculously rude. It's hard to explain When you approach them, they either meet you with an empty stare or seem disgusted that you would try to communicate with them, including the person at the ticket booth. When they do respond, it's often incoherent. This was the first year my kids were big enough for some of the more advanced slides, and I needed to ask some questions about how things worked - necessary because there are no posted instructions about how to exit the water, and it wasn't crowded, so I couldn't watch other kids doing it to find out.

I was stared at as though I was from another planet. The exception was the man who helped us exit from large blue waterslide - I think he was the only person that smiled at us all day! Advice for parents, though the cut off height for the more advanced slides is 4 feet about 6 years old The reason is that you need to be able to swim your raft back to the ramp ie, swim with one hand in deep water with a slight current. My 8 year old was able to do this but my 6 year old could not.

For Geronimo, you need to be able to carry a large heavy sled up a few flights of stairs which my fit and strong 8 year old could not do , and then swim it back. I just wish the staff didn't seem so miserable.

It makes me think it must be a terrible place to work, which just bums me out. Advice, keep your camera nearby as you might get a door ding. The park is owned by the Wallace family and the elder Wallace is a former legal advisor in the township so they are politically connected.

They absolve themselves of everything. Shaniock Philadelphia, PA 2 contributions. This is thee worst experience ever! We held our family reunion here and the service was terrible. The co-owner Mark was the most rude person I have ever encountered in an establishment. The park staff was disorganized and not friendly.

The co-owner came and ate our food that we paid for and He was disrespectful and I would never recommend this place to anyone! Went today to this lake and it was closed because unfortunately a tragedy happened it's very unsafe for kids and this park is getting older. Robert S Wayne, NJ 1 contribution. I don't know which is worse, the unsanitary cooking facilities or restroom facilities?!!! This place is being run by a fool patrolling in a golf cart who is more concerned on barking orders, than providing a clean safe environment for families.

This park is a disgrace. How much does it cost? Slide and ride wristbands additional. Discount Individually priced rides too. Last Updates Any top tips? I'm Hungry! There is a snack bar, beer garden and ice cream haven! What people are saying? Where is it at? Parents and older children will be swept away by Tomahawk Lake's Mountain of incredible water slides and rides to choose from such as their foot body slide, Crazy Horse Racing Slide, Geronimo slides and speed slide, swan boats, duck boats, paddle boats and bumper boats, the one-person water coaster, The Tomahawk Tipping Bucket and their awesome Rocky Mountain slide that spans over feet!

Visitors can take a wild ride on Tomahawk Lake's amazing foot tube ride "The Black Snake" that takes the rider on a fast and furious ride in total darkness, the 4 lane Pro Racing slides "Crazy Horse" with riders sliding on mats. To make sure that younger kids have as fun and safe a time as their parents, Tomahawk Lake provides a fun-filled newly furbished Kiddie area in "Papoose Land" where youngsters under 4 feet tall can play on water slides, climb on the giant turtles and frogs, paddle around in the kiddie canoes and bumper boats, ride along the lily pads and tangle with a foot rubber log snake!
